This function couldn’t be easier to use. Just type in your weight (in kilograms or pounds) and the time you rode for (seconds, minutes, hours or days) and it will automatically produce the number of calories burnt, as well as your weight lost and your average power, too.
There’s also an ‘advanced mode’ which, as well as helping you calculate your burnt cycling calories per hour or cycling calories per km/mile, will also work out your metabolic equivalent of task (MET) – i.e. the ratio of energy, relative to your own body mass, expended while undertaking a certain type or amount of exercise.

How Many Calories Does Cycling Burn Per Hour?
This obviously varies depending on your own individual weight, but on average, cycling for an hour a day burns about 350 calories, which equates to 0.1 lbs.
But think about that over the course of the year – an hour of riding for 365 days will shed more than 125,000 calories and 36.5 lbs – an enormously positive change to your weight done sensibly, rather than rushing to lose as much as possible as quick as possible.
Best of all, if you do this by cycling to work, you can reap the health benefits without feeling like you’ve done an intense workout – you can lose this much without the need to set foot in a gym.
