Resolute Bay Made a Rain Jacket and It’s Mega
Resolute Bay have been producing great cycling jeans with reflective detailing since launching in 2015, and now they’re expanding their product range – starting with a rain jacket.
The LS1 Rain Jacket is no normal waterproof cycling jacket though. Oh no.
During the daylight it looks like this…
But in the dark, when the bright lights of a car hit the jacket, it transforms into…
As you can see, this jacket has a secret. By day, it is a but a simple stylish jacket. But by night, it bursts into life.
And a Rain Jacket this certainly is. It has a waterproof membrane with DWR coating. The lack of a tuckaway hood is a shame in my opinion, but it does help maintain the minimalist design of the jacket.
The reflective nylon shell that creates the striking luminous effect under light is barely noticeable in normal light, although it does give a slight twinkle under further inspection.
As with any good cycling jacket, Resolute Bay have also included a dropped back hem – so no backside exposure. This cycling rain jacket also has mesh lining on the inside, articulated sleeves for better comfort when riding and back yoke air vents to ensure plenty of breathability.
The pocket situation is good too: you’ll also find no less than three zipped pockets. A left and right hand pocket on the front, plus a discreet internal left breast pocket.
This is a pretty light jacket too, and can be easily rolled up and popped into a bag. Not quite kag-in-a-bag, but certainly portable.
On the whole, Resolute Bay have come up trumps once again – maintaining their form for producing quality products that are extremely comfortable, look good on and off the bike, while also boasting plenty of discreet functionality for cycling.
Coming in at £120, I’d say this jacket represents decent value for money as you’ll be landing yourself a solid rain jacket for unexpected downpours. Also, make sure you enter code “RIDEFREE” at the checkout on Resolute Bay and you’ll also get free worldwide shipping.
